FEATURED IN THE MOMU!

From September 3rd, through February 14th, a piece by Charles Quiles will be featured in an exhibit titled FOOTPRINT

Located at the ModeMuseum in Antwerp, Belgium.

The exhibition FOOTPRINT takes you on a journey through the history of shoes in fashion, and promises to be a true revelation for both shoe lovers and fashion freaks. Running the gamut from the otherworldly contemporary designs by Iris Van Herpen and Noritaka Tatehana to 19th century carved wooden clogs: this show highlights the innovative and bold approach of these designs and investigates their cultural impact. Due attention is paid to those fashion and shoe designers that used their skills and artistic vision to leave an imprint on the fashion image of their age. The exhibition shows both the Hollywood glamour of Salvatore Ferragamo, the ‘shoemaker of dreams’ for Marilyn Monroe, as well as sneakers by Raf Simons and the rebellious boots by Vivienne Westwood, Walter Van Beirendonck and others: these shoes have left their marks in fashion history. This exhibition displays the MoMu shoe collection, on long-term loan from collectors Geert Bruloot and Eddy Michiels, supplemented with over 400 unique items from the archives of designers, collectors and international museums. Includes pieces by: Maison Margiela, Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, AF Vandevorst, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Tokio Kumagaï, Roger Vivier, JW Anderson, Balenciaga, André Perugia, Vivienne Westwood, Salvatore Ferragamo, Patrick Cox, Raf Simons and Azzedine Alaîa.
